For those of you who hate summer training, what have you found that works to motivate you to go out and get the miles in from June until September?
SET A GOAL--CHASE A PERFORMANCE.
HAVE FUN ALONG THE WAY
DONT GET HUNG UP ON MILES
let me know your pbs and training background
and I will help point you in the right direction.
try the following:
* read running books such as once a runner, running with the buffaloes, pain, etc.
* find training partner (s) - running with someone makes it much easier
* keep a training log, seeing your progress daily (or lack of it) can be motivating
* if you don't have a speficic training plan from your coach in writing - ask for it or write something out yourself - a day by day plan to lead you to your goals will be very motivating - then you don't have to think - you just do
