Who will be the next Nigerian Sprint star ?...

Postby Guest » Wed Jun 04, 2003 1:49 pm

Among African sprinters, Nigerians have always
given top World-class sprinters these last 15
years like Olapade ADENIKEN, Osmond and
Davidson EZINWA, the meteorit Danny EFFIONG,
the now Portuguese OBIKWELU...and other sub-10"10
Nigerian talented sprinters.
I sometimes wonder if there are new growing
Nigerian talents to survey.
Does anyone have any idea about it?
( the first African 100m Olympic Gold medalist
is may be among them, who knows?... )

I don't know if he's Olympic gold caliber, but Uchenna Emedolu is probably Nigeria's best sprinter of the moment. He won the World Cup and placed 2nd at the Commonwealth Games last year. On Sunday won the Hengelo 100, despite suffering a slight injury at the Abuja meet two weeks prior.
