From lane 8 that was a good run. 48.00 he is looking good for the World Champs ....Culson will have to get his race plan together by Moscow....think he needs to go out a bit slower

Clement went out very fast, leading at 200. He slowed a lot, managed to clear #9 OK, but chop, chop, chopped at 10 and finished 7th. Still, he broke 49. What a talent!

Sigh... I just can't help wishing Clement would take a serious shot at the open-400. It just seems soooooooo likely to me that it would be the more natural event for him, and that he would also probably be better at it than the 400H, in the longrun. Not just based on that absurdly fast indoor 400 of his, but also just watching him in the 400 hurdles. You can just see that flat-400 speed in him... and also just see that consistent stumbling and stuttering of the final few hurdles for yet another zillionth 48x in a row, time after time after time.

::shakes head in frustration::

It's still an honor to be able to watch this guy regardless, he's got enormous raw talent, but I just wish he'd at least CONSIDER giving some serious attention to the flat 400, even if not fully switching over to it.

Oh well, we can dream a little dream...
