The Rollins scratch is quite puzzling since in her post-Lucerne interview she is quoted as saying she is looking forward to racing in Monaco and then Finland. Story is on front page for those wanting to see whole quote.

I can only surmise her agent didn't get the appearance fee he was looking for and thus her late pull out.

I'll pick Harrison to win, Pearson 2nd, with Wells 3rd.
If Rollins was running, I'd pick her to win!

Pearson just doesn't have that extra gear this season.

So mythical that Rollins is somehow ducking a woman who is consistently in the middle of the pack.

Rollins wanted more cash...period.

This is probably the most disappointing race for Sally; she must have expected (like at least some others here) that she would be moving up to 2nd/3rd and to about 12.60.

Yes. A step back in time and place without two of her biggest competitors in the race. The good point for her is that the WC Final is not as tough a race as the US Final. She only has to beat 2 Americans to get top-3.

And one or two of the top Americans are not there. That Trials race was probably the toughest qualifying race ever (well, maybe a Kenyan Steeple or 5000, ...).

And one of the 4 Americans we're sending seems to be well off the mark of her final/PR/BobHayesEsque run (Ali). If Wells or Jones took the 3rd spot instead of Ali, I think you could safely say there would be very little chance of Sally taking a medal. She at least has a shot of somebody falling or smashing a hurdle now.

Ali needs to gather herself for the second peak because she does seem like about the 8th best US hurdler right now.

Harrison outran Sally by a good 0.2 after the first hurdle.
