I see Makusha has an "r" in the 2nd jump. What does that stand for? I haven't seen any, so I'm just guessing he's done.

I believe that it means that they are injured.

But there have been plenty of Jamaicans who have won events on the IAAF circuit in recent years. Did you inadvertently omit a word such as "field"?

I thought that is short for "retire" but I can be wrong

It is retire, but that often is because they are at least partially injured.

I presumed that since I was posting in the Long Jump thread that persons reading would know that I was referring specifically to the Long Jump.

The TV coverage of the long jump was poor...I only saw one jump by Forbes, and no final standings.
