Another exciting race...Bolt should win it pretty easy but the real story will the others behind - Weird, Lemaitre, Ashmeade, Young. Also interested to see if Bolt can go sub 19.80 again.

Considering Bolt pulled out of Ostrava to "stay in Jamaica and get more training", this will be interesting to see if he can follow up his 19.7

We need Gay and Bolt to stay healthy. I think they are pretty even right now...

Ashmeade got out good and Bolt was pushed by Weir off the curve.

Not that impressed. We have seen him go 19.5 in these meets before and beat people by 5-6 meters, not the case any more

I think Gay may just be a bit ahead.Weir seemed to lost form imo but a good race from Bolt .Ashmeade ran a brilliant curve and I think he may well run the curve come Moscow in the relay

I agree about Gay being slightly ahead at this point in the season. But who know, a lot can happen in 5 weeks. I'm just hoping they both stay healthy, make it to the finals of both events, and run their best.

Disappointed by Lemaitre's time (should have gone sub 20)...then again his start was worse than awful, he really needs to find some solution to his starts :?

He does not get much push/extension in his acceleration and looks like he's trying to accelerate too much with frequency and not enough with stride length. His extension is incomplete.

It could be due to a strength deficit, improper technical execution or both.

I am usually disappointed with his first 100m and today he didn't disappoint in disappointing me!!!
What Lemaitre needs is to find a coach who can work on his start and his first 100m as it is diabolical!!!!

Of course he isn't a machine, but he has a set a different standard in the past. In 2009 he run 19.6 in a horrible downpour and cold wind.

You have your Mitchells mixed up.

Curtis Mitchell ran 19.99 to come in 3rd and make the US team. Not Maurice Mitchell...

Have to be impressed with Weir, he continues to prove that this London Bronze was well earned.

I think it was last season, 13 of july 2012, in the London GP (19.91). He has done it only twice, the other time of course being his PR from 2011 WC (19.80).

Or just two guys with the same last name....?

Maybe you dont follow NCAA track that much, but Curtis was the 2010 indoor champ at Texas A&M who controvetially went pro before the start of the 2011 indoor season.

Murice is the 2 time outdoor 200m champion from Florida St who made the US Olympic 200m team last year.

No relation.

@tm71....in 2009 bolt was 22..hard to stay motivated after doing all he has done..his record speaks for itself..since the Olympics in 2008 the man has lost just 4 times running a full race

This wasn't a circa '08, '09 Bolt race by any means but it's a fast time and new WL. He ran 19.83 on July 1st ? of Last year looking strained, while laboring to the line. This is a tenth faster so I presume Bolt is slightly better now. Moscow is in five weeks which is plenty of time to get things together.

Bolt showed last 5 years in big championships that he can to be 19.2-3 not very hard.
2008 19.30
2009 19.19
2011 19.40 in lane3(in outside lane 19.3 sure)
2012 19.32 jogging last 10 metres(19.26-19.28 probably running normally)

In those times it is very sure that NOBODY can to be near of him.
We will see his shape in Moscow, but im sure that he will in good shape 8-)

Lemaitre needs a new coach. His starts continue to be horrible, and his potential/talent being wasted. Just a terrible start/first 100.
