I dont think she can match SAFP through the first 40 metres and that is where she might lose it. But this is why we watch the races .

Blessings 6.98m jump didn't even hit the board  - it looked maybe an inch short on the replay.

What is the standard distance of plasticine to end-of-board, anyone? Jump 'worth' a lot more, that's for sure.

Does John Smith also coach Blessing in the LJ (along with 100m/200m)?

The board is 20 cm ( 7.75-8.0 in) wide.. the plasticine tray/board is 10cm (4-0 in) wide.

Thanks, good to know. So maybe 22-23cm short of the board.

Next question: If your takeoff foot hits the track instead of the board, is there much of a difference in elasticity? As in do you get less 'spring' from your takeoff leg, on top of the obvious loss of measured distance?

Presumably, there is no "spring" from the take off board.. but there may be better traction.

I've now rewatched her jump and realised that she didnt even hit the board  .I think she can jump pass 7.00 metres . She is really improving on all of her aspects it seems. Come Moscow I expect her to give Reese a run for her money

A non-winning 7.25 jump?

You are wrong
She is really improving on all of her aspects it seems
; she needs to improve on hitting the board.
