my understanding would be yes, but this is NOT based on any official discussion w/ USATF.

Wouldn't that come under the same ruling that allowed Janet Bawcom to go to London....even though she finished 7th at the Trials?

Any additions after the first 4 placers are now up to the discretion of USATF, but the rules allow Dendy to be selected if USATF so chooses, like gh stated.... The applicable portion of the USATF specific policy for WC team selection is below.

If after July 20, 2013, there remain places on the USATF team or alternate positions not filled by athletes among the top four (4) rank order finishers, USATF may, in its discretion, in rank order of finish, enter athletes and/or designate athletes as alternates based on their having achieved the applicable IAAF Standard at or prior to the National Championships.

The "final" list of Moscow competitors is out (front page).....or is that still "SEMI-final"??
Well, except for maybe Dendy being added, Seaman maybe retiring and Stroupe going in his place, it appears our teams are set!

The worst of it is that we have ZERO female TJ'ers!!
That MUST change!!!

The best of it is that we have two VERY strong teams, capable of getting a LARGE number of medals........the number of which I'll predict later.

To our team......
MOZELTOV!!! :D

ADD: Just thought of something.
What happens if Chaunte Lowe doesn't go as the Wild Card........either because she hasn't given birth yet....or she gives birth too late to recover in time to compete?
Do we just lose a Wild Card......with no one replacing her?

Relay pools must be completed which could add athletes. The answer to the last question is yes....the wild card is athlete specific.

The Final US roster is now set - see front page.

Interesting elements in the jumps. Does this mean that they reached down to those that had marks despite poor placings at the Trials (esp Dendy LJ)?

Triple Jump Christian Taylor Fayetteville, Ga.
Triple Jump Omar Craddock Killeen, Texas
Triple Jump Will Claye Gainesville, Fla.
Long Jump Dwight Phillips Smyrna, Ga.
Long Jump George Kitchens Jr Hephzibah, Ga.
Long Jump Marquis Dendy Middleton, Del.

And here are the Relay Pools
4x100 Relay Pool English Gardner Voorhees, N.J.
4x100 Relay Pool Octavious Freeman Lake Wales, Fla.
4x100 Relay Pool Alexandria Anderson Austin, Texas
4x100 Relay Pool Jeneba Tarmoh Los Angeles, Calif.
4x100 Relay Pool Barbara Pierre Winter Haven, Fla.
4x100 Relay Pool Aurieyall Scott Orlando, Fla.

4x400 Relay Pool Natasha Hastings Atlanta, Ga.
4x400 Relay Pool Francena McCorory Hampton, Va.
4x400 Relay Pool Ashley Spencer Indianapolis, Ind.
4x400 Relay Pool Joanna Atkins Stone Mountain, Ga.
4x400 Relay Pool Jessica Beard College Station, Texas.
4x400 Relay Pool Rebecca Alexander Baton Rouge, La.

4x100 Relay Pool Justin Gatlin Cleremont, Fla.
4x100 Relay Pool Charles Silmon Waco, Texas
4x100 Relay Pool Mike Rodgers Round Rock, Texas
4x100 Relay Pool Rakieem "Mookie" Salaam Edmond, Okla.
4x100 Relay Pool Dentarius Locke Tampa, Fla.
4x100 Relay Pool Jeff Demps Gainesville, Fla.

4x400 Relay Pool LaShawn Merritt Suffolk, Va.
4x400 Relay Pool Tony McQuay Gainesville, Fla.
4x400 Relay Pool Arman Hall Pembrook Pines, Fla.
4x400 Relay Pool Josh Mance Los Angeles, Calif.
4x400 Relay Pool James Harris Lanett, Ala.
4x400 Relay Pool David Verburg Lynchberg, Va.

Of course, athletes like Felix are not 'in the pool for either the 4x100 or 4x400 but will definitely be in Plan A in both.

Yes, they reached down and added athletes. This has been discussed a few times (even in this very thread) and it is allowed by the published rules.

To which gh said likely. Note that he has not done real well in qualifying rounds this year, not making the top 12! in his NCAA Regional and then 5th at the Trials.
