Will, for one thing, it will be Spencer's first (senior) International Championship meet, and running the 4x400 at the end of it may be a bit much. Note that she ran slower here than at NCAAs and that her anchor leg did not match her open 400 in quality. Thus, if she is running 50-flat she will be as fast as they are and will be fresh.

I am not certain how much not wearing spikes cost her, but if she can already run 3x51.x in flats, if her foot improves, I doubt that any of the Americans can run a more reliable anchor. For instance, if they are close to the Russians and the Russian anchor goes out too fast will they have the confidence and control to run the right race?

Believe Spencer was equal 8th at 300m. If she gets her race pattern better for Moscow (and after watching everyone trade wins on DL) she has as good a chance of winning as others.
