USATF TV and Webcast

Postby Pego » Tue Jun 18, 2013 2:19 pm

This is pretty awesome. When TV starts simultaneously with the webcast, the webcast will cover field events only. Running on TV screen, field on the computer screen. This pig is in heaven.

Edit. I just discovered all this info is also on the front page. Oh well, twice never hurts.

never saw USATF webcast before... NCAA's were great via webcast, especially with their live feed of each field event... but I'll take what I can get from USATF...

They just finished Hept 100H. Excellent picture, no commentary, excellent graphics of start list and prompt results. If this is an indication of things to come, it would be great.

USATF.TV

Field events in junior multis do not have any graphics. One has no idea who is jumping how much.

For me, it's just a white screen and a spinning half-circle. Reminds me of Pre Friday night.

Anyone else having trouble?

Now I have a Runnerspace.com toolbar, a large blue rectangle and a smaller red one.
There is also a login/signup space; do you have to have a login for this?
The half-circle is still spinning, too.
???????

Pego, did you go to the Runnerspace.com page from USATF.tv?

Having suffered through Pre-Friday, this is working correctly. It is a USATF page, I believe, with a Runner's Space header. I'm also getting some announcing or summarizing.

When I enter USATF.TV, it takes me to a site with a stadium in the middle and Watch Live in it. I need to do no more than click on it. RunnerSpace is on top, but I ignore that. I do not need to log in.

I finally (after re-loading) got to a "Welcome to the USATF TV site". It had several meet logos, one of which was for the USTAF champs, and a "watch live" button. I clicked it, and now I'm back to a white screen with a spinning semi-circle again.

I hope this works better tomorrow, but there will be a lot more people trying to watch tomorrow.

It appears that, once again, they cannot handle the volume.

I tweeted to @Runnerspace.com about my problem. After a few tweets, they sent me a direct link, which seemed to work, but the meet was over. However, I have hopes that it will work tomorrow. I don't know why I couldn't get there via USATF.TV.

Anyway, Twitter to the rescue. I have only used my Twitter account twice, both times to complain about Runnerspace.com's streaming. They do listen, however, so good on them.

Alan, maybe you could tweet @Runnerspace and ask them to keep the camera on the finish line for a few more competitors before cutting to the results page. Works in the 100m since all finish within 1-2 seconds. In the first heat of the junior women's 800m, they showed only two finishers and then cut away.
