Another poor run by Lo Lo. To many off track distractions.

Why not, she ran 12.7x into a headwind with home-town distractions at Drake. When you start bad-mouthing a bunch of Jamaican runners then you can start on others; until then it is really getting annoying.

Again, she has too many off track distractions that is preventing her from focusing on the hurdles.

And, isn't the only thing that matters the WCs (and Trials), so now is the time to be a little distracted, isn't it?

Exactly (not so many in this league, and maybe not too many capable of beating even a 'distracted' Lolo).

One mention of her name and this thread goes spinning off into a lengthy back-and-forth about the 5th place finisher. Isn't all this unwarranted attention exactly what many if not most on this board have decried? Harper-Nelson has medaled in each of the last two olympics, is America's best 100m hurdler and just won Doha with a WL mark. Kellie Wells was second and Queen Harrison (who I think is about to have her best season as a pro) came third. Let's talk about that.

Lolo has just as good a chance as ever making the US team, with her having to beat one of the three women ahead of her here. This one wasn't great but it's not like people are dropping 12.40s so she'll be in the mix.

Harper-Nelson and Wells will run a lot faster than they have been this year whenever Sally decides to compete in the Diamond League (if she does, as she may be saving herself for Aussie Nationals and Moscow). Whether or not Lolo or Queen Harrison can get in the 12.40's when Sally is there remains to be seen as Lolo hasn't been in that range since Beijing. Neither Lolo or Queen will medal if Harper-Nelson and Wells run similar times in Moscow as they did in London and yet not be able to dethrone Sally.

Lets make the team first. There are tons of athletes who have just a good of chance of making the team. The only person I would bet on is Wells, but besides Queen and Lolo here, you also have Crawford, Manning, Rollins, Castlin, and a couple more...(mind you Harper-Nelson has a bye)

Doesn't really matter the Americans though because they will be battling for silver and bronze in Moscow.

You do know Pearson only beat Harper by 0.02 last year right? Pearson doesn't quite have this in the bag like you may think she does. And we certainly need to see how the other women perform as the season progresses. It's still too early to be giving out medals

And you do know this is a hurdles race right?... (see diamond league final 2011)

And my original comment was a direct response to your statement on Lolo and Queen meddling (Any Medal). Before they can do that, they must make the US team which might as well be a world/olympic final itself.

Sally Pearson was overcoming an injury for most of the recently completed domestic Australian summer season. She resumed competition in a 4x100m relay on the Asian Grand Prix circuit. The team ran 44.06 to just miss the 44.00 World Champs qualifier. Will have another try today in Colombo.

Not sure when her first 100m hurdles race is scheduled, but she is a keen student of the sport and would be well aware of the results & form of the sprint hurdle girls currently competing.

It would be foolish to suggest Sally Pearson has the gold medal wrapped up and the others are running for the minor medals. Harper is genuine class, a proven big-occasion performer. Sally will have to be in her absolute best shape come the world champs.

Aussie Nationals were run in early April. Pearson missed them through injury, but will be in Moscow. As noted above she's in Asia at the moment and on her way to her European training base. I'm sure we'll see on the track once the DL gets to the Continent too...

Sally wasn't in top shape last season, she had a back injury all season

http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/201 ... sport.html

which let to her being beaten at London DL after falling in warm up. She still won the OG.

When Sally is in 'her absolute best shape' this is what we see

Good point, mump boy. At her best, she is a class above the rest.
But perhaps let's wait until Sally has a hurdles start before declaring the WC gold medal as a given.

Well forget about Christina Manning as she is out for the year recovering from a torn achilles.
