I ran the girls PV today and it was disastrous in steady rain. Only 3 girls made 10'. After a 5-round jump-off for first (at 11'), I asked the meet Ref to call it, so we could have a tie for first and he did, so at least two girls were happy.
Darn shame the weather sucked, and tomorrow's meet looks like it may be rained on as well?... It didn't look good on webcast, and those poor vertical jumpers, only 2 guys had marks in the high jump, the remaining 14 NH's.
Given the weather conditions, I thought 9th grader Kaylin Whitney's 11.79/23.40 sprint double was quite impressive.
I noticed Artie Burns won both hurdle races, but he's nowhere near the form he was in last year when he was ranked #1 (13.35) and #2 (36.06) in 2012... was this a senior year letdown or did he struggle with injuries or something?
Marlow, how bad were the conditions; would you trade with ours: at noon wind NW at 15mph, temp 41, rain, wind chill 31. Of course, that was an improvement on earlier with w was 18/gust 22, wind chill 26 with rain.

Steady rain. Standing water everywhere. We had to roller-squeegee (that's a fun word!) the PV runway every 5 minutes. The temp (60s) wasn't bad, but there was a stiff wind in their faces as they ran the first curve.
Trayvon Bromell ran 10.45(+2.2) to win 100m, then walked down Tony James(first race since March 16 Bob Hayes) from Gainesville High to win 4 x 100m to win in 42.26. He ran 21.41 behind Kendall Williams 21.12. US #2 in 200m, Ceolamar Ways of Nease(St. Augustine) DNS both the 100m and 200m. I heard that he was in a car accident days prior to the meet and had issues when he went to the start line.
US's only 52 foot jumper< Jeremiah Green(Hillsborough and Alabama bound) finally had a wind gauge measured jump. However, he fell shy of 50 feet in the conditions and passed his final three jumps having won by 3' 5.75 inches. 1 Green, Jeremiah 12 Hillsborough 48-02.00 -0.6 14.68m 10 48-02(-0.6) FOUL FOUL PASS PASS PASS
5-10 jumper Nicole Greene(Ponte Vedra) cleared 5-05 on a slippery track. Boys HJ was even worse.
