The weather forecast is calling for thunderstorms in Kingston on Saturday. Hopefully, it will clear up by the time the meet starts.

His quote below is the part that is troubling and it has no place on this message board since it is false and slanderous.

It doesn't help a coach was busted last year with emails being sent to Ottey's coach on how to beat drug tests.

Well, she wasn't banned for anything and if the IAAF/WADA felt this new information somehow affected Ottey, there would have been an investigation by them on this information.

Lets get back to the Jamaica Invitational discussion.

She was banned, but the ban was overturned on a technicality, so step a little lightly on this topic in the future rather than indicate that anyone that cites the material is guilty of throwing unverified aspersions on the athlete should be banned from the board.

Just go read this; avoiding a positive reading from both the A and B samples only because
"the retesting was not completed in the allotted time"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottey [wikipedia is not perfect, but this is not the type of thing that there is typically a problem with.

Lets get back to the Jamaica Invitational discussion.

But now, it is time to return to our regularly scheduled focus on Jamaican sprinting or, in this case, sprinting in Jamaica. I am sure that we all agree with that.

Marion Jones is currently in Jamaica. She is one of the presenters at the "Business of Sport" seminar being held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel which is the same hotel where all the athletes are staying.

I am sure she will find some time to hop on over to the national stadium later to watch the meet.

I notice with a great deal of contempt and disgust the hypocrisy of GH the moderator. SMH

I think when people throw round names with no evidence he is consistent in shutting down the topics. Context can mean a lot, I stuck pretty much to the facts of Ottey's suspicious evidence, I've not outright stated anybody is a drug cheat there. However I do think GH, like all of us have biases. He doesn't seem to get precious about US track and field athletes but it only natural, like mumps and flumpys unnatural and double standard defensiveness and praise for Ottey while they routinely throw quite unsubstantiated accusations around.

I'm British and while I think our brilliant cycling team is clean, I do find that where they may get criticism for not being transparent and dominating perhaps the dirtiest sport in the world a lot of British cycling fans are almost not willing to discuss in any way that UK Cycling/Team Sky could possibly be doping or deserve criticism for making themselves look dodgy by for one example blatently not being honest and being evasive about the employment of a certain dodgy doctor they have recently released. Likewise US athletes get bitchy when you point out how easily american athletes excuses are accepted for light bans. To non-americans the likes of Vessey, Carl Lewis etc stinks to high heaven, to an american it looks like a mistake anybody could make and yet would be livid if Russian athletes where shown the same leniency. It's only natural but it is also frustration when an authority intervenes with those biases showing.

Just saw a live video clip from the national stadium in Kingston. They are having heavy thundershowers.

No way they can run in that weather if the rain keeps up.

Meet is scheduled to begin at 6:40pm US EDT.

It may be a bit delayed to allow the storm to pass. Reminds of the Reebok GP in NY in 2008. Due to heavy rain, races were postposed until the storm passed. Bolt didn't get to run until 11:12pm at night and the rest was history
