I like Blues' response from a previous thread...

Some pretty good other early high school marks being reported including Green (TJ -
52-1,Whitfield (10.15 and 20.65) and K.Williams (10.18 and 20.63) windy at 3.5 and 2.5 respectively. :)

Whitfield's and Williams' 10.15 / 10.18 with a 2.4mps wind translates to about a 10.27 / 10.30 zero wind set of times, excellent opening outdoor set of times for those two. Delano Williams in the Jamaica HS Champs ran 10.28 (-0.7), or approx. 10.23 wind-adjusted... so the Florida kids have opened their outdoor season in fantastic fashion.

Not sure how the Bob Hayes Meet got into this thread, but I'm impressed by the younger Kendal Williams.. He's a 17 yr old junior in high school, while Levonte Whitfield and Delano Williams both turn 20 later this year and are either older than or about the same age as Marvin Bracy, Tyreek Hill, and Aldrich Bailey are now (just to name a few of last year's top American HS sprinters), and are older than many US collegiate freshmen... Great performances by Williams, Whitfield, and the others though.

I am burnt to a crisp having been out there for NINE hours, officiating the PV and coaching my gPV/TJer. The good news is that she got 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Well, you would not have been burnt to a crisp if you were up here. Last time that it was 40 without rain (low 40-42 and rain is rather nastier than, say 35) was Dec 4. Our average temp in March so far has been 25, and the next week is supposed to be lower than that with our first daily high above freezing may be next Sunday (and there are five inches of snow on the ground, with a couple more coming -- I suppose that should go in "weather in your neighborhood acting funny').

OK- both of you are lucky - here it is a blizzard -we will get about 10 inches and already have 3 feet on the ground. It is -18 and we have not been above freezing since November! I guess I am a masochist , but I was south for a month, which only makes it harder since I came back. So I am real anxious for the outdoor track season to start somewhere in the US cause it wont start here for ages!

Our outdoor season began in January and first meets were in early February. We are MORE than halfway through the regular season. State Championships at the end of April.
