KINGSTON, Jamaica (Sporting Alert) — Delano Williams won the highly anticipated CLASS One Boys 100-metres dash at the Jamaica Boys and Girls High School Championships at the National Stadium on Friday night.
In fact, the 19-year-old led a 1-2 finish for his school Munro College, after he sped to the finishing line in 10.28 seconds (-0.7 m/s) to outpaced teammate Senoj-Jay Givans, who clocked 10.49secs for second place.
The time was a personal best for the World Junior 200m champion, as he bettered his previous best of 10.34secs. Williams is a native of Turks And Caicos Islands, but has received a British passport, making him eligible for selection for that country.
Finishing third in the 100m was World Youth champion Odail Todd of Green Island High, who posted 10.49secs. Raheem Robinson of Wolmers was fourth in 10.50, with another medal favourite Jevaughn Minzie (Bog Walk High, 10.55), coming home 5th.
