Re: Monty can't break 10secsWell, if you factor out the wind, neither can Greene. So...
Re: Monty can't break 10secsBut they're both a lot better than the Three Stooges proposed earlier in this forum as probably sub-10 chaps this season. Anybody else read the weekend's results?
Macro 10.29 in Hengelo, Shirvington 10.31 in Milano, Nagel 10.82 in Milano (admittedly, in a heat, so probably hurt). Sorry to their backers, but I just don't see any magic sub-10 anywhere in their immediate future. At least not without wind and/or altitude.

Are you too stupid to remember?
Re: Monty can't break 10secsMacro ran with a -2.1m/s wind. His "raw" time would roughly have been mid-10.1, which shows consistency in his races so far this season.
Re: Monty can't break 10secshow much will an aiding wind of 1.4 mps help your performance? Greene ran 9.94, which may still be a sub 10 sec performance even with the wind factored in.
Re: Monty can't break 10secsGreene's performance would have been about 10.01 without the wind. Have a look at my website for a wind/altitude performance calculator:

Re: Monty can't break 10secs>Macro ran with a -2.1m/s wind. His "raw" time
>would roughly have been mid-10.1, which shows >consistency in his races so far this season.>> Exactly--consistency in the 10.15 range, which is hardly an indicator that he's going to break 10 any time soon.
Re: Monty can't break 10secsMacro is now in the zone where, with the right conditions, he can realistically go sub-10 (legally). Quite frankly, that's all he needs to do in order to get such a time recognized by the books.
Re: Monty can't break 10secsNow that the USATF can't cover up failed drug test, you'll see slow times accross the board from US athletes.
Re: Monty can't break 10secsi meant three stooges macro, nagel, shrivo will not be a factor when the big meets come up.
guys we dont know how easy monty is taking it thru the races, maybe he is still training a lot. the same thing with greene, i think he eased up a bit in the last 20 meters when he knew he was the easy winner. we will learn more as the season goes on, especially after we see who joins mo greene on the team.
Re: Monty can't break 10secsi think it is ridiculous to suggest that usatf covers drug tests and that us runner will be slow. this is spin not facts...
