Cain HS 800

Mary Cain has to be as big of a runaway indoor athlete of the year as there's been in years.

From 1500 to 2 mile ridiculous dominance.

I know she can't get credit for it cuz of the "running start" but what I find astonishing is her back half 880 yard split from the US Championships might be the fastest 800 meter time of the year for any high school girl. And hers came after jogging a half mile.

Seriously holy moly in my book.

According to the splits listed above, their final 600's were:

Moser.....1:31.84.

Not super great 600's, but decent!!
And Cain WHIPPED Moser!!

Cain is great--no one is debating that. But it's also true that that opening 2:55 half didn't take much of anything out of any of them.

Yep. Very true, but if you had to run an 800 would you rather toe the line and run it or - jog 4 laps of an indoor track in traffic - then run an 800?

I just think it's crazy how good that kid is.
