From Frank Zarnowski's DECA website: "Trey Hardee announced that he would just start the [60 HH] race allowing him to vault."

How odd. Since Hardee ultimately ran 7.73 in the open HH.

Add the 7.73 to his other events and a 2:48 1000 and Hardee scores a PR 6247, winning the competition by 15 points (if Nixon were to run no faster).

My guess is that he ran the open hurdles instead of the Hept hurdles because the 1000 didn't fit into his training plans and he didn't want to finish 6 events with a clear shot at the title and then not run it.

Also, the multis group are pretty friendly. If he edges Nixon out it really does nothing for him but take both dollars and the championship away from the up-and-coming Nixon who, with some school eligibility issues might be a (semi-)pro and in need of every dollar and award.

watching Beach run that 1k in the video and aware of the raw talent in the jumps does anyone else think he would be well suited to the 400m/400H ?

Absolutely right user4, that is a great point, Curtis Beach would be a 45.0/48.0 400/400H man by now if he had focused on the events.

Even as a multis fan I would say, there is still time!
