Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...What do a tornado and a Kentucky divorce have in common?
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
Either way, you're gonna lose your double-wide!
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
Exactly.
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...... if you can convert instantaneously between metric and imperial. OK, exact accuracy on the throws scale is a tall order, but I think I have the jumps nailed.
if you can recite the WR progression in most events over the last 100 years (performances, athletes, nationalities, years).

Yes, I am with Marlow. Most events? Even the most fanatical fans I have known over the years really only keep track of a few favorite events. And the past 100 years? Hmm...
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...From monitering this website I have concluded that although interested in and somewhat knowledgeable in some events, I am relatively far from fanatic about T&F.
I am constantly amazed by the breadth and depth of knowledge of posters here. It seems they either have photographic memories and instant recall or instant access to an incredible data bank of current and past performances. I could not find the answers to some of this stuff if given half a day and a helper. Just marveling. Carry on.
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...very funny list by gh. i think i have done at least a couple of those listed in the last 25-30 yrs.
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
Probably just as well I can't be held to account over this one
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if....................If everytime you read a license plate it reminds you of an excellent time in a specific track event.
Insurance agent: Whats your license plate number ? Customer: AHS 4394 Insurance agent: Wow thats Kirani James's personal best
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...yeah, the numbers thing really resonates with me, usually on the digital clock.
I just got a new truck and watching the odometer I have been reminiscing over great pentathlon, then heptathlon and now decathlon scores. Just passed Daley.
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...What do kuha, Mighty Favog, aaronk, tuariki, uncleadok, berkeley and DrJay have in common with William Rowan of Medford?
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
Let me guess, they are track fans? or Read T&FN?
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
You're right, but something more specific.
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
We're all startlingly sexy genius studs.......nahhhhh, scratch that!!!..... but being one of the mix.... I sure can't wait to find out!!
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
You'll find out soon enough. The "friendly crew at your local running shop" might be able to clue you in.
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
So why don't you just subscribe, aaronk?
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
Just googled William Rowan of Medford's name, and came up with two quite disparate references. One was the first baby in 2013 in Medford. The other was a defendant in a 2007 child molestation case!! I sure do hope you're referring to the FORMER!!!
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...Oh WOW!!
I just found what we all have in common!! We're all quoted in GH's column in the latest issue of T&FN!! The reason I didn't know about that was that I'm still reading the MARCH issue, so had just skimmed briefly through the new (April) issue, and hadn't read any of the articles completely yet!! Okay, there are 3 reasons I don't subscribe. 1. I LIKE going to Fairhaven Runners to get my issue. They're a very successful running store, but still small, and I like giving my business.....even if just $4.34 per month's worth!!....to my local friendly running shop. 2. I've been a subscriber several times in the past.....and though I'm NOT blaming T&FN......occasionally an issue would arrive torn or frayed or wrinkled.....and when I buy it in the store, I get a PRISTINE copy!! 3. I LOVE T&FN, but I no longer depend on it for my record-keeping purposes. (I have a 500 page self-compiled T&F Record Book!) I mostly use Athletics Annual, FAST Annual, and HS Track for my research. Also, this site!! I get full results of all the meets here (or through links from here), so don't really NEED T&FN for that. All that said, I DEVOUR every issue....eventually!! Thank you, Daisy!! You got my wheels turning trying to find out the answer to your riddle!! (I'm glad you didn't connect me to that child molestation case!!
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
All are currently wanted by their parole officers?
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...Not only to pronounce Derek's last name as though it was an airplane, but when you see a headline like this you think that Carmalita is hurt:
"Jeter may start season on disabled list" http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/#ixzz2O8pgkn00
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...You might be a hardcore TnF fan if you worry needlessly about being a child molester.
Re: You might be a hardcore T&F fan if...
Okay, here's a little "numbers association" test! I too will see a time on my watch and think of a running record....or even of a time I ran way back when!! So here's a few "times" people have run......which could ALSO be times on your digital watch. How many can you instantly identify?? (Don't worry if it's p.m. or a.m........doesn't matter!! And some are more esoteric than others!!) 12:21 12:53 1:23 1:40 2:43 2:54 3:07 3:43 4:12 4:28 6:19 6:29 8:23 9:04 9:06 9:38 10:00 12 of them are WOMEN's times!! And they're all records....of one sort or another!! Have fun!!
