Jessica Ennis-Hill makes her comeback from injury in Loughborough today. Just her second competition since the Olympics and she competes in the LJ and JT.

Jess Ennis improved her javelin PB to 48.33 in Loughborough. Wasn't expecting that because it doesn't sound like conditions aren't great either.

Trey Hardee was testing his form in Germany today together with Schrader and Freimuth. the competition was 110H, OV and discus, Hardee ran 13.70s and threw 47.79m, then sprained his ankle so he did not do the PV. He said it's only a slight sprain, which would not affect his preparations for Moscow.
Schrader: 14.10s, 5.00m, 45.51m (all close to his PBs)
Freimuth: 14.04s, 4.60m, 45.13m (did not attempt any heights after 4.60)

Results here: http://www.leichtathletik.de/results/62 ... rkampf.htm

I think Eaton and Behrenbruch are competing at the estonian championships this weekend, does anyone have results?

It appears in her last effort Caster Seymenya hasn't run the standard for Moscow. No Seymenya and no Jelimo, can anybody stop Savinova?

Is Niyonsaba the favourite?

It is going to be very tough to medal in Moscow, especially if Barshim recovers his 2.40 form. And what about Ykhov? The HJ is as strong as the LJ is weak.

Ain't THAT the truth! And the m400 (after KJ and LM)! The 400H has been off for a while, the mPV is slowly recovering. mHT in the doldrums and now the mJT is weak. What up wid dat?!

Don't get me started on the women, but that's a whole'nuther story (sorta).

A few results from the Flanders Cup (3 August, Ghent):

200m
men's (+3.4)
1 Walter DIX 20.43

women's (+3.7)
1 DeeDee TROTTER 22.87

800m
men's
1 Felix KITUR (KEN) 1:45.97 (has a few others @ 1:45, all 2013) I wonder if he's a son of one of the Kitur brothers (Samson, David, Simon).

women's
1 Nicole SIFUENTES (CAN) 2:01.84 (SB)
2 Katie MACKEY (USA) 2:02.00 (PB, from 2:02.21, 2013)
3 Diane CUMMINS (CAN) 2:02.12 (39 yo)

1500m
women's
1 Christine BARDELLE (FRA) 4:09.64 (will be 39 yo on 16 August; PB, from 4:13.73, 2003)
2 Ayako JIN'NOUCHI (JPN) 4:10.08 (PB, from 4:11.30, 2012)
3 Angela SMIT (NZL) 4:11.78 (2nd fastest, after 4:11.72, 2013)

Based on the winds listed for the 200m races, I would guess that the wind conditions for these distance races may not have been that great, which makes these performances worth noting, for these athletes. Mackey noted post-race that the conditions were windy.

One other, before the Forums go on hiatus:

MoIndal Folksam Challenge (Sweden, 3 August):

men's 200m
1 Luguelín SANTOS (DOM) 20.89 (+1.1)
This would be his SB, apart from 2 in Morelia, which were altitude. Aside from those, this is his 2nd best of his career.

men's 300m
1 Luguelín SANTOS 32.57
Has only raced this distance twice, but the other time was 32.56, at about the same time of the season leading up to London last year.

While this board was shut down.....or before.......news came in that Morgan Lake (15? 16??) of GB broke the age 17 and under record for the Hept with a 5478!!
This beat Jessica Ennis's and Denise Lewis's bests at Lake's age!!
(Not sure if that's just a UK age record, or a World age record!!)

Also, missed mark (above) from the Flanders meet was a 9:09 3K win for Deb Meier!
Don't have exact time, or who she beat, but it was 9:09 and change!!

Superb score, she is also only 25 points off the UK U18 record and has most of 2 years to better it having only just turned 16 2 months ago. SHe would have beaten it at the world youth but became ill on day 2, it affected her performance and DNF. She already had a record day 1 score.

Morgan Lake is serious one for the future she has no weaknesses except the 800m which she will get better at with age. She only just turned 16 and can high jump 1.90m, Long Jump 6.19, Shot Putt 14.70 and hurdle 14.14. She will be dangerous in 4 years I think and a contender after that.

Sollentuna, SWE 5 August

1km
1 Ayanleh SOULEIMAN (DJI) 2:15.77 WL, PB

Seems like a decent tuneup for Moscow, whichever event(s) he runs.

Jeneva McCall became # 2 on the US A-T HT list with her 74.77 (245-4) at the Lubnicka meet.
Also, Dayron Robles won a 110H race in 13.36.

Does anyone have the complete results??
I know there were other big names in this meet.

Chris Clarke, 2007 world youth and 2009 European junior 400m champion, had a sterling pair of performances at the UK Inter-Counties in Bedford today. He ran 20.25 in the 200m heats before improving to 20.22 (-1.3 m/s) in the final. His 200m PB prior to today stood at 20.65! He's incredibly injury-prone which is probably why he's focusing on the 200m these days (his 400m PB still stands from the 2009 European Juniors at 45.59 when he was 19y) but it's looking like the switch is paying off.

This performance also means two British sprinters have broken 20.3 (or three if you include Delano Williams) for 200m in the same season for the first time since 2002.

Arthur Abele won the german decathlon champs today with 8251 points. Besides Schrader he is the second german decathlete who had a great comeback this year after a long injury break.
That makes it 8 germans over 8200 points this year, i can't wait for the qualification massacre for Zurich next year. 8-)

Pretty much all the girls who ran the diamond league final ran in Padova which explains why the times might not have been as fast today. Krivoshapka won it in 50.86
