While I'm 100% against running 3200's (and 1600's)....
Wesley Frazier burned a 3200 at the Raleigh Relays today in 9:57.70!!
She won easily....and beat her own 2012 MR of 10:21.84!!

After two quite years Johnny Dutch ran 13.57 110h in the Raleigh Relays, his best since 2010 (pb 13.50). Maybe indicating a return to form also in the 400h when he was world class athlete couple of years ago?

Just noticed that aaronk posted on this, just above.

In any case, using the 3200 to 2 mile converter on Milesplit's web site, this yields 10:01.17. Were that conversion to be correct and recognized, it would put Frazier in the USA prep all-time top 10 at 2 miles. If not for that darn Mary Cain, we would be all excited about this!

Rafer/Jackie Meet at UCLA:

I noticed Gil Roberts has been running some meets lately in Southern California and was representing "HSI" today. He ran 46.48 today, finishing 4th. Anyone know if he sought John Smith's help, or who is coaching him now?... I always felt he had some good potential.

No super marks to report, but a few notables... N. Goule of LSU posted a 2:01.18. T. Thompson ran 56.16 for the W400H. K. Duncan ran a relatively slow 23.26 (1.6). J. Wruck throwing well as of late in the M Disc, 66.05/216-08, closing in on Harradine's Aussie record of 67.53 (I believe).

At the Jim Click Shootout in Tucson today, Stanford's Kori Carter handed US Olympic trials silver medalist and London Olympic 5th place finisher (and current Arizona Wildcats star) Georganne Moline a rare NCAA loss in the 400 hurdles, 54.71 to 54.98. Third place was 58.19. Big props to Ms. Carter. It was a huge improvement in her PR, from 57.10 to 54.71, and it puts her at the top of the current TFRRS NCAA performance list.

Edit- I think her 54.71 puts Kori Carter at the top of the current 2013 World list as well.

Turns out that Ratcliffe's mark (209-11) is an Ivy League Conference record!!
(Which she'll almost certainly break again...and again...and again, being this is her first year there.)

66.69 (218-9) at Sam Howell meet April 6...not bad for early in the season! :D

In his first competition since september, David Storl started the season with 20.73m according to his FB page. I don't know if this was a sanctioned meeting though since his posting says it happened at the IAT Leipzig, which is the Institute for Applied Training Science. According to his page he will be competing at the DL in Doha beginning of may, would be nice if some of the US guys would be there too.

A few marks I picked up by being ANAL in my search :P :

At the Sam Adams meet:
Kiani Profit had a Hept of 5909.
Best mark was her 800...2:08.79!!
Second was Aisha Adams with 5788.

At the Spartan Invitational:
Kayla Caldwell (Who is she??) from Hillsdale (Where, and what, is that??) had a PV of 14-2!!
I'm pretty sure Hillsdale is a school of some sort, so 14-2 is pretty good!!

At the Auburn Track Classic:
Ant. Strachan ran 200 in 22.93 with a wind of minus-0.3!
Mantao Mitchell ran 20.72 with a 2.0.
Clemson did their 4X400R in 3:34.43. (The women, that is!! :) )

That 2:01.18 by Goule makes her the 16th A-T Collegiate!!

TFRRS NCAA D1 Outdoor Qualifying List -- women
http://www.tfrrs.org/lists/1029.html?gender=f#12

UVU Collegiate Invite meet results 29 March 2013 -- men's 800m
http://www.tfrrs.org/results/29707_1848908.html

I noticed in looking at the collegiate lists that Jessica Sargent (freshman, Idaho State) is the 800m list leader with a time of "1:59.71@". This seems noteworthy to me, but as no one has discussed it (unless I missed it somewhere out here), it must be the case that everyone but me who happens to be following USA collegiate T&F knows how to interpret this mark. In any case, I have some questions, from the trivial to the -- well, they're all trivial, but anyway...

1.What does "@" mean in these lists?

2. In looking at the actual meet results for this mark, I see that her mark is listed in the results as 2:00.32. It would still be the collegiate list leader, but why the difference between the "1:59.71@" and the "2:00.32"?

3. I note she is listed as running this in a mixed race -- i.e., Heat 2 of the men's 800. Assuming this mark is accurate in one (1:59) or the other (2:00) number, how will it be used for qualifying, etc. purposes? I assume not used, but don't know.

4. Who the heck is Jessica Sargent, anyway? I spent a brief amount of time digging out some prep marks from 2012, and her collegiate profile at ISU, and all I got was:

http://id.milesplit.com/athletes/266312 ... ca-sargent

http://www.isubengals.com/roster.aspx?r ... ath=wtrack

which lists some modest 200m & 400m times from last season at Highland HS (Pocatello, ID).

Even if this performance in a men's race is actually the slower time (2:00.32) and even if it doesn't count for rankings, qualifying, etc., it's still really impressive and surprising (to me). Any insight on this is appreciated! (Where are you aaronk? I count on you to be studying these lists in great depth and detail, and commenting! :D )

I think it's either a computer glitch on the part of TFRRS, or their site got hacked. In the UVU meet, Jessica Sargent finished 18th in the women's 400m, with a time of 1:03.33. She also anchored the Idaho State "C" team to a 4:17.75 seventh place finish in the 4x4. She's not currently listed in the results of any 800m race from the results on the UVU site. (In the official results from the UVU site at the link below, Justin Senecal of Idaho State is listed as having run 2:00.32 in the second heat of the men's race. He has the same initials as Ms. Sargent, although I don't know if that has anything to do with the mix-up.)

If you right click on those results you'll see that Ms. Sargent has other PRs of 28.4 200m and 63.3 400m and has no bio on her profile page which would be pretty odd for a 2 flat woman. So there must be some sort of coding error.

Hillsdale is a college in Michigan, which competes in NCAA Div 2. Kayla is 21. She finished 7th at the NCAA D2 indoor championships in 2010; her page at Hillsdale doesn't list any results for last season. Looks like her PR from back then was 4.00, so 14-2/4.32 would be a big improvement.

While noting that the World Leaders (also US, Coll. and HS) aren't always totally up-to-date....for various reasons......let me amend the current WL listings.

Henry Lelei's 8:32.94 is apparently the WL now.
Julian Wruck's 216-8 is a one inch improvement in his CL.
Kori Carter's 54.71 now is the WL in the 400H.
(BTW, I believe Moline's 54.98 is an IN SEASON PR for her....her faster times coming AFTER the NCAA last year!)

Also, Goule's 2:01.18 is, I believe, the OUTDOOR 800 WL.
The listed WL is from INdoors!!

I don't know if it's just me, or what, but I have the sense that some of the collegiate track & field websites are getting re-designed into badness. At the Oregon website, over the weekend, how to get results of the Pepsi Invitational was a complete mystery, and in this case it wasn't just me, as I heard the complaint even more vociferously from somebody else. If one clicked on the Schedule Link, and then Live Stats, the result was a message, "Live Stats will appear in a new popup window. Please disable your popup blocker for this site in order to view the Live Stats." Well, whether or not disabling a popup blocker actually worked (I didn't bother to try), no other collegiate results webpages I know of puts up this particular type of barrier to results. Eventually, Sunday, clicking on Top Stories and going to the one on the meet led to a results link hiding not too conspicuously underneath the photo. Picking the HTML option then led to a familiar Hy-Tek results setup, posing the obvious question: Why not have this link there obvious, to start with, on Saturday while the meet is going on? Like the Texas Relays, and a lot of others that use the Hy-Tek format? Then the Sun Angel results at the Arizona State website were problematic, although this is not much different from Arizona State historically. Usually one just has to wait. They're slow. Meanwhile, the Arizona website is now hard to decipher and navigate. It now has a subdued (seemingly grayed out) area that's actually clickable, even though it looks like it should not be. In a nutshell, harder to figure out than before. Finally, I searched for a good while for the whereabouts of the Clemson roster link before eventually finding it all the way at the bottom of their website. Everybody else in the U.S. collegiate scene has the roster link somewhere near the top.

The best results pages are the ones that have links down the left side of the page that bring up results on the right side - WITHOUT having to navigate back and forth to the links page. Why can't all results pages be that way??!!

I had the same problem with the Pepsi results from Eugene!!
Never did figure it out....so just gave up and waited for T&FN to post the results!!
Ditto with 1 or 2 other meets I was trying to follow the results....Sun Angel in particular!!
(I notice CKuykendall mentions Sun Angel too!!)

Florida Relays was VERY easy!!

However, on NONE of them did I find the field events results presented as they happened...throw by throw, jump by jump!!

FL Relays used Delta Timing which doesn't post the results of an event until the event is completed. No heat by heat, throw by throw, jump by jump, etc.

Some good collegiate marks to report:

At Sea Ray, Felisha Johnson got the longest OUTdoor SP of the year, with her 59-4 & 3/4.

At the "Battle of the Bayou" meet, Kim Duncan ran 22.82, but with a MINUS 0.4 wind!!
Anna Jelmini threw the discus 194-5.
