The m-5.000m has eight with lifetime bests under 13.40

The m-110H will feature Dayron Robles

The m-LJ features Sebastian Bayer and Loúis Tsátoumas

The w-1.500m has four with sub-4.10 PB's, including Natallia Kareiva of Belarus (4.02,37 PB) and Jessica Judd.

The w-100mH features Nadine Hildebrand (12,94 PB)

The w-HJ features three with lifetime bests over 2.00m including: Ariane Friedrich, Emma Green Tregaro, Ruth Beitia

The w-PV has seven with lifetime bests over 4.50m, including: Fabiana Murer, Carolin Hingst, Angela Bengtsson, and Kristina Gadschiew

The w-HT has one thrower with an in-season 70m PB: Tracey Andersson

This has not be a great year for the LJ, and it looks like this is the best overall result set I have seen. Fifth is still over 8 meters (NWI, but the others are just about 2, so similar might be expected).

Two surprising results in men's track events from the Bulgarian NC:

100: Denis Dimitrov (94) 10.16/1.5 NJR! (previous best 10.71 from '10!)
3000SC: Mitko Tsenov (93, 2012 ECCC silver) 8:27.09 (solo run, previous best 8:45.86, did 8:52.24 last year) (fastest since Kashanov in early 80s? NR is 8:25.02 by Mikhail Zhelev in winning the 1969 EC)

Add to men's 100: Kirilov 10.34, Kremenski (91) 10.35, Boyan Petrov (92) 10.40

Stambolova lost 400 to Nikolova, 52.61 to 52.75
SP: Mavrodieva 18.48
Danekova won 3000SC (9:46.54) and 1500 (4:36.07, don't know if Yordanova competed)

Don't have the details...or confirmation......but it was just reported on Twitter that Luguelen)Santos ran 43.98 in Puerto Rico
Meet was in San Juan sometime this past weekend, according to the tweet.
Assuming it's true, this gives Santos the WL mark, and a PR by a large 0.47!!

Alas, today's 17-June, not 1-April.

Which 'real' trustworthy sites, actual Dominican Republic news, speedy results services like Trackalerts, or any auto-updating stats-carrying database have you looked this up on? Try this site's own homepage for starters. Not there? Cause it didn't happen.

Moreover, one'd assume that he'd state it had others 'forgot' to mention it:

I find that hard to believe, Santos ran a 45.69 in Oslo on thursday evening. He then flew back to Puerto Rico on friday and a day or two later ran a 43.98?

Guess that tweet was a "twick"!!
Seriously, the reason I put it up without waiting or further research was because the original tweet was retweeted by Jesse Squires, who is reliable.
Guess it was too good to be true!

BTW, I DO think he CAN go sub-44!!

Her return to elite level was quick!! Great news

Not quite impressive, but a return to form nonethless, was news that Fabrice Lapierre lept 8.25m (1.3) at a Rice All-comers meet (that's the A qual exactly). He backed it up with a 8.16m also

http://www.athletics.com.au/home/news/n ... _a-qualifi

That moves him up to #9 on the yearly list and is his longest jump since 2010 (and his 6th best legal result ever).

Wind was +1.0

He has backed that up with other performances over the past month:
10.43 (0.5)
10.46 (-0.8)
10.53 (-1.0)

& 20.96w (2.3)
21.16 (0.2)

Presumably this is the 2nd fastest ever by a 15yo (Darrel Brown is 15yo WB holder with 10.36):
http://age-records.125mb.com/

(and yes, I know Bolt ran 20.58 at 15!)

The plot thickens. Did Shaunae run the 400 at her trials?

Besides Jam, T&T, and Bahamas are there any other Carib Islands with any noteable trials? Grenada or Antigua perhaps?

Is she using her NCAA season to build fitness/endurance for the 200 or something? I thought the 400 was her main event,

Can this season get any bloody better ?? Jesus .... I really wasn't expecting that from Strachan or Miller and as for Baptiste welcome to the plot girl. The 200m is really looking to be a superb event come August.

Apparently Miller seems to be only doing the 200m in Moscow. I thought she would have had a go at the 400m

She does intend to run the 400. She only ran the 200 because there wasn't any competition really at her trials in the event.

It looks like Gamze Bulut is set to race for the first time since the Olympics over 5000m at the Mediterranean Games which are taking place in the dubiously named Nevin Yanit Stadium.

Haven't been following the event too closely but I was surprised Abeylegesse, despite her lack of form, lost to Kenza Dahmani (who I've never heard of) in the 10,000m.

Interesting return to form from Avan winning the jav with 83.84 after only 71 in Gateshead! Good 82.45 in 2nd from Abdelrahman (EGY).

Good 1500 from Hilali, 4:04.06 from Gega (ALB) 4:05.63 and Karakaya-Koyuncu 4:06.22, approaching her 2011 form after a poor 2012 and a poor run in Gateshead.

Decent TJ, 17.13/1.4 from Greco, 17.00/1.2 Tsiamis
20.45 Tsakonas, 20.46 Guliyev (first event for Turkey!) (-0.7), 23.18 Artymata, 23.20 Grenot, 23.40 Karakus (93) (-1.8) in 200
13.45 Douvalidis, 13.48 Martinot-Lagarde (-0.8) 110H
4.50 Ledaki, 4.40 Agirre, Buisson PV

Did notice Baniotis' result.

Bulut's race is tomorrow btw. I also see Mingir is running the steeple, though she was apparently implicated along with Cakir-Alptekin and Yanit, though she ran in Finland recently.

Not heard of either Moroccan who came 1st and 2nd in the W 400H...is Bidouane coaching them?!

Ozbilen won 1500 in 3:35.09.

Also from Sollentuna:

Sofi Flinck of Sweden threw the javelin 60.96, about 200-3.
She's still just 17 years old, born July 8, 1995!!
It's not an age 17 record, but it's not that far away.
Also not far from the age 18 mark!

Lambarki won the African champs in ?2010?. I think it's a big step up in time though

Speaking of juniors, there is a big junior meeting in Mannheim/Germany tomorrow and on sunday, the Junioren-Gala, with lots of international guests. It's developed into the Zurich of juniors, i read that the Australian and New Zealand teams come over just for that meeting.
Entry list is here: http://2013.junioren-gala.de/pages/de/teilnehmer.php
And for anyone interested in junior athletics, there is even a live-stream (from 1pm local time) and live-results: http://www.leichtathletik.tv/2013/Sonst ... la13/1.htm

Virgilius Alekna threw 69.04m in Lile/France today. Not bad for an "old" man over 40.
