i have no idea what a "compilation results thread" is, but anything that attempts to lump together marks from dozens of different competitions in different events at different levels makes zero sense at this time of year. During the indoor season, sure, but you might as well just start a thread that says "2013" and put everything in it.

Instead it makes more sense to open a new thread for every tiny meeting in the world where someone achieves a noteworthy time/mark ? Last year the outdoor results thread worked well and didn't get locked, this year it doesn't work anymore?

I actually really want the Outdoor Results thread to stay- I like to follow results from round the world but don't have the time to wade through them all and when something of note happens in a minor meet, it can go in there- I'd much rather have that then a hundred threads littering the forum...

I don't really see the issue- we've had one like this for years and it's always been fine?

How about having four threads:
Sprint 2013 (up to 400h)
Middle/long 2013
Jumps 2013
Throws 2013
In which we can post all notable results from small meets ?

Which still means you might end up with having to post in four separate threads for one small meet. The problem is, someone found a problem where there is none. So since "management" decided to close this thread, how about they come up with an alternative?

I enjoyed the thread, especially with inputs from scattered (yet significant) tidbits/insight from our European friends (actually all our non-American friends) which I often don't see/catch until reported by T&FN. The major meets have their own thread, so where does one put the other stuff - I'm still learning the appropriate balance between the two.

So, if during the next 4 months, there are meets that produce results of significance, but are not DL meets or major national/regional champs which may attract their own threads, we will have to start a new thread for any such performances.

I just started a new thread, 2013 Minor Meets Results Thread, with simple guidelines in the opening post. Use it appropriately and I expect it will stay up.

gh is our referee/umpire. If he calls a foul, it's a foul, regardless of what we may think. Players have to adjust how they play to the way the game is being called.

The difference is, gh is one of us, a T&F fan, not a neutral party.

I do like the idea of having a thread of random, one-off, great performances, but I'm also wondering how hard it is (not) to have a thread for each. They're free, y'know.

Two results from the Tokyo meet last week---besides the kid's 10.40 behind Rodgers.....

Cory Leslie got an 11 second PR with his 8:20.08 steeple, behind 3 Kenyans.
Lolo Jones beat Kellie Wells, 12.92 to 13.07, as Wells hit hurdle 9 (or 10??), and fell back.
(In Jones case, it wasn't the time that mattered, but beating Wells!!)

Caught it on Eurosport and she looked solid in doing it, backing up her windy 10.9 from earlier in the year.

Patricia Hall of Jamaica ran 50.86 in Brazil which so far puts her in the mix with the other JA 400 sprinters.

At Azusa Pacific some girl I never heard of formely of UNLV named Lekeisha Lawson had a 11.14(1.6) and 22.75(2.3) double so she is on the radar of ones to watch. She also has a 7.10 from Albuquerque this year.

Octavious Freeman won the Conference USA champs in 11.18(-1.1) over Aurieyll Scott in 11.27. Even though the times are average for their talents I expect big things for them this year at NCAA and expect to see them fight hard for a spot to Moscow.

English Gardner also in with a big PR of 22.62(1.1) at Pac 12 Champs.

This is always the kind of time I thought Gardner should be capable of for the last few years given her 100m PB and her 4x400m abilities. Good way to bounce back from the 100m DQ.

Laura Weightman of Great Britain ran a mixed race 3000 PR of 8:43 in Stretford.
According to Jesse Squires, it won't count as a WL because it was a mixed race.
Weightman tweeted that it was a 20 second PR for her!!
She's just 21, born July 1, 1991.

It'll be on the T&FN lists as a World Leader (outdoors). We don't hold to the silly mixed-race proscription.

Jessica Judd started her outdoor season with a 2:00.37 800m PB (previous PB was 2:00.96 which she set in the world junior final last year where she won silver). She's getting very close to the UK junior record of 1:59.75 and she also has next season in the junior ranks too (only turned 18 in January).

It's a terrific opener and the strength work she put in during the winter already seems to be paying off. She ran 9:00.06 indoors for 3000m this winter which is a very solid performance for a junior predominantly specialising in the middle-distances!

Curious of two races at JUCO champs this weekend...
- Last year's prep star Tyreek Hill scheduled to run the 100, coming into the meet with a very windy 10.09 and a legal 10.28, running for Garden City CC.
- Also, future LSU'er Vernon Norwood, currently approx. US #10 at 45.56(A) running in the 400 for South Plains.

Found some good results on FloTrack.
The NB Twilight meet in Waltham MA on May 11 produced the following:

Kim Smith ran with the men, but finished 1st woman with a good time of 15:02.56 in the 5K.
Behind her in 4th (women) was high schooler Julie McConville, running an okay 16:34.26.
McConville moves into 16th place on the A-T outdoor HS list!

Molly Huddle also was 1st woman in a mixed race 3000, time of 8:57.75.

Abbey D'Agostino took the 800 with 2:08.11.
Don't know if that was a mixed race, but doesn't seem likely!

She's ranked 2nd, 5th and 5th in the UK junior all-time lists over 800, 1500 and 3000. I think she's the real deal and I love the way she attacks races.

A few more marks from Ponce, but maybe not separate thread material:

Nia Ali won the 100H in 12.86 (-1.4).
Josh Mance took the 400 in 45.27.
Ajee Wilson won the 800 in 2:01.08, which I believe is her 2nd fastest time!
Behind Wilson were Chanelle Price in 2:01/52 and Melissa Bishop in 2:01.54.
Eric Sowinski took the men's 800 in 1:46.41.
Australian Gen LaCaze took the SC in a near-PR 9:37.62.
Behind her were Nicole Bush (a PR by just 0.02!!!) in 9:39.36, Stephanie Garcia in 9:50.79, and Puerto Rican record holder Bev Ramos in 9:51.17.

Wilson's time is significant, for her. PB = 2:00.91 from WJC last year; otherwise, she has as yet never been under 2:02, so this bodes well for her season, or at least I hope it does. She just turned 19yo a week ago.

Perri Shakes-Drayton opens her 400 season with a PB of 50.98 (some reports saying rounded down to 50.97) in Loughborough

Rhys Williams 48.90 over 400mh. Jack Green pulled up.

Dina Asher-Smith, a junior at just 17, ran 23.14 over 200m.
