Not bad for cold february, but the results may not be legal, they used a special surface in the ring for biomechanical measurements.

Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
The photos seem to show they threw from an indoor ring in a heated building, through a large door and out into the snow... very nice. I wonder what they would throw in Wailuku?
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsThe problem with these early good results are the same as with results from Wailuku, they are meaningless unless you can reproduce them in the summer and Nadine Müller hasn't been able to do that. Last year she threw 68.89m in march, never got even close to it after that and was left without a medal in London. You have to throw fast when it matters not when the conditions are perfect or when there is no pressure. Nobody does that better than Hartwig.
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
So Jeff has returned and taken up the discus then? (I'd guess Ian Waltz would love to help him to switch from his (Ian's) wife's event to his own (I know you mean HartINg really.)

Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsAccording to her webpage Betty Heidler threw 75.80m on New Caledonia sometime last week.
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsNot world class, but the first good HS outdoor mark is from NB winner Annie Rhodes, who vaulted 13-11 and 1/2 on March 7th at the Boswell Relays in Texas.
She had a 13-10 best from indoors!
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
In its appropriate context -- US prep marks -- this is very good, right? A glance at the all-time list places this #8 (comprehensive list). And, a 1" improvement would make her #4. She seems to be one worth watching.
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsAbakumova throws 69.34m with the javelin at the european winter throwing cup in Castellon/Spain today!
Results page is here: http://www.rfea.es/competi/2013_ECPWT_C ... index.html
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
In the last throw. Pretty strong field in all events. Too bad no live stream from this competition again.
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsPV women: Yarisley Silva 4.81m this weekend in Havana.
Results can be found here: http://deporcuba.com/2013/03/17/en-foto ... #more-4704 Unfortunately no wind info there.
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
That's Silva's overall PR!! She got an indoor best this year of 15-8 1/4. And of course it's a Cuban national record!! Puts her 9th on the All Time outdoor list!!
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsSome fast H.S. 100 meter times in addition to Bob Hayes results... That's at least four sub 10.40 100m H.S. times (wind-adjusted) early in the outdoor season.
USF/Steinbrenner Invitational: T. Bromwell 10.44 (-1.1) = 10.36 wind-adjusted http://www.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?event_id=7469&do=news&news_id=108295 Texas Southern Relays: C. Burrell (Leroy's son): 10.25 (+2.8w) = 10.39 wind-adjusted http://www.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?event_id=1168&do=news&news_id=108175
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsOn the outdoor HS list comes 2 good marks:
Valerie Allman improved her 2012 DT mark by over 16 feet, from 167-0 to 183-3. Sabrina Gaitan came within 3 inches of the soph class HT mark with her 184-6.
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
this mark turns out to be indoors (even though the rest of the meet was outdoors).
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
According to the new HS lists out today, it was Lakan Taylor, NOT Annie Rhodes, who vaulted that 13-11 and 1/2 indoors during the outdoor Boswell Relays. And this list also gives Rhodes a 14-0 mark outdoors!! So, did Taylor (AND Rhodes!) vault that 13-11 and 1/2 indoors? And what are the details on Rhodes's 14 footer?? That would make her just the SIXTH vaulter to go 14 outdoors!!!
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsA few marks from a few meets:
HS'ers Sandie Raines and Katie Jensen ran 3000 in 9:35.51 and 9:44.65 at the Victor Lopez Classic at Rice U. Raines has a 10:28.30 3200 from last year, and Jensen a 10:24.80 3200 from 2012. At the UCF Invitational, Tim Glover hit a JT of 253-5. And Julia Ratcliffe (Frosh at Princeton) beat Brittany Smith in the HT, 209-11 to 209-7.
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
NB Julia Ratcliffe is the New Zealand record holder at 67.00 (approx 220 feet)
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
Turns out that Ratcliffe's mark (209-11) is an Ivy League Conference record!! (Which she'll almost certainly break again...and again...and again, being this is her first year there.)
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsCarmen Carlos ran 3200 meters in 10:15.70 at the FSU Relays in the HS Girls Inv. race.
The only times from 2012 I could find for her were all indoor times--4:48.28 one mile (OT), 9:49.73 for 3000, and she led the 2012 indoor 2 mile list with her 10:25.30. The latter mark was fastest on 200 meter tracks for the full 2 miles. There were faster times on OT tracks and at 3200 meters.
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
Looks like she may have negative split. http://fl.milesplit.com/meets/128213/videos?id=35339
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsMileSplit is reporting that Grosse Point South (home of the Meier girls!) has run a DMR in 11:35.98.
They say it puts them at # 3 A-T!! Not according to High School Track 2013. 11:35.98 would put them as the 12th fastest team A-T. Unless M-S made an error, and GPS's time was actually 11:25.98!! THAT time DOES put them in at # 3 A-T. They said more details are forthcoming. OOPS!! Looks like the EMU Huron Relays is an INDOOR meet!! So GPS's 11:35.98 WOULD be INDOOR A-T # 3. This improves their time from NB, where they ran 11:39.10.
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsFrom "Superfan"'s column comes some interesting names and results from the weekend college scene.
Regina George ran an 800 in 2:03.79 at the TX State Elite meet. She won the race. Ashley Spencer won the 100 there in 11.46. She also placed 2nd in her first-ever 400H, time of 57.34.
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsAnyone know if last year's prep star Abraham Hall (10.19/20.58) is running this year?
Also, I could only find one citing of last year's prep sprint leader, Tyreek Hill (2012 marks of 10.19/20.14), a junior college meet in Kansas on March 14, where he ran 10.28/21.20 (no wind reported). http://www.macbulldogs.com/custompages/Track%20and%20Field/2013/Outdoor%20Results/southwestern%20results.htm
Re: 2013 Outdoor Resultsfrom the January edition of T&FN
<<Military service is also in the cards for No. 1 sprinter Abraham Hall, who will attend West Point Prep Academy on his way to the U.S. Military Academy. USMA officials say that for NCAA purposes this counts as active military duty and not a redshirt year.>>
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsWhile I'm 100% against running 3200's (and 1600's)....
Wesley Frazier burned a 3200 at the Raleigh Relays today in 9:57.70!! She won easily....and beat her own 2012 MR of 10:21.84!!
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsAfter two quite years Johnny Dutch ran 13.57 110h in the Raleigh Relays, his best since 2010 (pb 13.50). Maybe indicating a return to form also in the 400h when he was world class athlete couple of years ago?
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsOverlooked/woth noting? I see where Wesley Frazier ran 9:57.70 for 3200m this weekend at Raleigh Relays.
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
Just noticed that aaronk posted on this, just above. In any case, using the 3200 to 2 mile converter on Milesplit's web site, this yields 10:01.17. Were that conversion to be correct and recognized, it would put Frazier in the USA prep all-time top 10 at 2 miles. If not for that darn Mary Cain, we would be all excited about this!
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsAhh, so he did (Aaronk). My bad.
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsSun Angel:

Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsRafer/Jackie Meet at UCLA:
I noticed Gil Roberts has been running some meets lately in Southern California and was representing "HSI" today. He ran 46.48 today, finishing 4th. Anyone know if he sought John Smith's help, or who is coaching him now?... I always felt he had some good potential. No super marks to report, but a few notables... N. Goule of LSU posted a 2:01.18. T. Thompson ran 56.16 for the W400H. K. Duncan ran a relatively slow 23.26 (1.6). J. Wruck throwing well as of late in the M Disc, 66.05/216-08, closing in on Harradine's Aussie record of 67.53 (I believe). http://www.flashwest.com/13Meets/13UCLA/
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsAt the Jim Click Shootout in Tucson today, Stanford's Kori Carter handed US Olympic trials silver medalist and London Olympic 5th place finisher (and current Arizona Wildcats star) Georganne Moline a rare NCAA loss in the 400 hurdles, 54.71 to 54.98. Third place was 58.19. Big props to Ms. Carter. It was a huge improvement in her PR, from 57.10 to 54.71, and it puts her at the top of the current TFRRS NCAA performance list.
Edit- I think her 54.71 puts Kori Carter at the top of the current 2013 World list as well. Last edited by Blues on Sat Apr 06, 2013 6:27 pm, edited 4 times in total.
Re: 2013 Outdoor Results
66.69 (218-9) at Sam Howell meet April 6...not bad for early in the season!
Re: 2013 Outdoor ResultsIn his first competition since september, David Storl started the season with 20.73m according to his FB page. I don't know if this was a sanctioned meeting though since his posting says it happened at the IAT Leipzig, which is the Institute for Applied Training Science. According to his page he will be competing at the DL in Doha beginning of may, would be nice if some of the US guys would be there too.
