Seems this young lady has a ton of potential, especially considering that she'll get stronger and possibly move up to even higher level coaching in the future. She'll turn 16 in March.. Video of her 23.69 from last week is below. Her 23.52 would currently rank 10th on the TFRRS USA Division 1 Collegiate list.

BUt how many female teenage sprint prodigies go on to improve as adults ? in the UK it's practically none

Heaven protect us from a stream of sprint or other prodigies... even the teenies in East Africa already elite runners burn themselves out so frequently.... exceptions exist of course. I am reluctant to take seriously for the future any athlete under 18 and even the the world class juniors of 18/19 so often don't do the elite business... there are of course exceptions.. just hope that Jacko Gill does not do a Nesterenko... rather a Storl.

Jess Judd was mentioned by Eldaniel... remember to have a look at the Britishwomens under 20 stats for women in this event... a good number never went to the elite at national /international level.

I couldn't get it when I first tried then read on twitter they had a techno cock-up which was fixed. But when I did get on it kept freezing so I eventually aborted. Saw about 70% while I was on but eventually gave up as it was getting irritating. Saw Bleasdale bail out of each attempt at 4.90m though.

Yeah I'm pleased she got a stadium record and WL but the manner in which she choked the 4.90m is worrying considering how she easily bowed out of the Olympics. I'm not sure she copes well with pressure in certain moments.

Forgot to mention NCAA cross country champ Kennedy Kithuka now has run 13:26.65 for 5000 indoors, the fastest this year....and it's on a legal-size track!!

Also, we all know that the outer lanes are absolutely necessary to do well in the 200 (and is why it was dropped from the WIC). The 0.04 differential between the two is possibly accounted for by the differences between lanes 5 and 6.

I will be following this girl closely. It is going to take alot to screw up the natural talent that she has. In perspective she is probably capable of running around 23 flat outdoors in the middle of winter. Her numbers right now are reminding me of Allyson Felix and Marion Jones. She is def one to watch.

Irene Ekelund today won 200m in Swedish Indoor championships on 23,15, breaking the national record by 0,32. This makes her nr7 in the world so far, and all that at age 15.

Mary Wineberg wins the Milrose 400 by 0.01 over McCorory in 52.19. Now is when we need Guru to provide commentary/background etc. Moline's 53.23 is pretty good for the 400h collegian.

Jenn Suhr and Kylie Hutson both made 4.65, but Suhr passed [4.75] to 4.81 (ahead on misses) without a higher clearance.

I was very surprised at Doc Patton's 6.51 seconds at the Millrose Games. New PR at age 35.

Says he has put in alot of work into his start since it has always been the weakest part of his race. Also, he looks like he is putting in alot more work in the weight room.

Great for him. Lets seem what he can do at US Indoor Nationals as well as outdoors.
