Given the extremely reasonable ticket prices (around $200 for the entire meet for good seats), I'm guessing that the fanbase might be that of the U.S......get excited every four years and forget the years in between. Hopefully they won't have to paper the house like they did in Daegu.

This all makes me look back fondly at Edmonton and the huge crowds which showed up knowing that Canada had slim hopes of winning a medal (they ultimately did not), yet people paid good money and turned out for the love of competition. All this in a city of only 650,000 people. I don't know how that meet did financially, but I wish they would hold the World's there again.
