Wouldn't it be cool to see Allyson do the 100,200,400 at a championships(in that order) or maybe Sanya,Bolt, and Blake. Has this ever been done? If not would it ever be possible?

Learn something new everyday. Did he run the 10,000 before the 5,000?

How about Carl Lewis's '84 quad?
Also Lasse Viren in '76: 10,000, 5,000, marathon (5th).

So the standard of whether someone is to be considered for one of the higher spots in the AOY is that they are as good as Zatopek? Bolt had better start winning the 800, not just try the 400 before he gets a swing at AOY.

No it's not but it should be noted that Zatopek ran Olympic records in all 3 events

It's easily possible... at the expense of the athlete in question probably not being able to run either of the relays that is.

Olympic records in the 1950s were rather easy pickings compared to now.

Maybe so but the difference is he tried to break them, 13.41 wouldn't even have been OR in 1956

Actually, I think it would have been impossible in London. In Moscow, it looks possible for the men but not the women.
