Another Las Vegan, Ashlie Blake, won the intermediate girls' shot at 15.87/52-1. Also born in '96.

Randall and Sam Cunningham were/are fabulously gifted athletes;
Randall highjumped 6'8" as a senior in HS with a bad knee that slowed his approach to a literal walk. I don't doubt that he could have been a world class jumper if he had focused in that direction.

Great jumping. Texas has had such great high school jumpers over the years. As a stat note, his jump isn't even the stadium record for the high jump. Scott Sellers cleared 7'5" in that same venue (Humble) as a junior.
