¶2012 OG: w200–Allyson Felix (US) 21.88Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48Anyone else think that Semoy Hackett looked pretty good out there?
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48Oh yeah, lost in the shuffle is that with Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie's failure to advance, we've seen the last of the Golden Girls
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
well they have another set of Golden girls coming up like shenae Miller ,karmesha cox and as you all know anthonique strachn
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Pistorius ended up in 5 because he had one of the "preferred" lanes, which are 4-5-6-7, and drawn randomly within that quartet.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48VCB actually needs to win her semi tho unlike in the 100m she cannot depend on being the fastest person that did not win a heat where she got a better lane . This lane draw will be pretty decisive
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
That's going to be hard to do. Running down Jeter from lane is going to be crazy. I don't know how she got herself in that pickle. She is going to have to run her semis like it's a final to beat Jeter and get a good lane in the finals.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48I hope someone like Ahoure wins the whole thing and just keeps every quiet....
But really, watch out for SRR pulling off the double.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Cutting off your nose to spite your face?
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
So true.Allyson is ready for greatness.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48Okay I take back what I said earlier about the Americans.
A sweep is looking possible, if not downright probable. VCB just does not look like herself here. Sanya has been running 22.0 for awhile, if she can hold off SAFP & the 1,2,3 happens
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Lots of different ones to respond to; I picked this one. The Americans could sweep -- and I could draw an inside straight (not that difficult, but not likely). Discount SAFP at your peril; she is much more of a threat to win than VCB from what we have seen lately, although VCB is a hell of a competitor; she took it easier in her heat but as a result might have to burn matches in the semi; not a good tradeoff. AF has to be the favorite, but I wold put SAFP next and then SRR, VCB and Jeter all have good arguments for finishing as high as second, but first seems a bit of a stretch given how good the top two have looked.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Double what? Double meat whopper with cheese?
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48I'm worried for VCB.... This could have been her year to possibly win the women's 200m gold 3 times consecutively and make history but she chose to try and double and looks tired just like she did at the 2009 World Championships... I still love you tho but hopefully you can still pull a medal.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
I think that she will medal. Not the gold medal, but maybe the silver. But we have to see how the semis play out. Lanes are important in this race... I think... On second thought, the lane draw may not be as important as many think. Since MJ ran a sub 20 second 200 meters (in lane 8) to win the 1992 olympic trials, my view on lanes (especially outside lanes) have changed.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48NBC showed utter disrespect and disregard to Veronica last night for not showing Veronica’s 200m last night. Veronica is the two time defending Olympic champion in the 200m and even though she came third in her heat, she was obviously jogging knowing that it was the top 3 to the next round.
I am so freaking mad now.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Yep, unfortunately, it happens from time to time. If VCB were to somehow win the 200, then NBC would be all in her face!!! "Congrats.. Please tell us, how did you run the race? What was your strategy?"
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Don't worry about that .You think VCB is worried ? . Those things dont matter
Re: 2012 OG: w200–
Olga and Viktor were and are Ukranians and competed for the Soviet Union through 1991. Olga represented Ukraine in 1992 Olympics. Cheers, Alan Shank
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48THREE MINUTES AND COUNTING UNTIL THE SEMI-FINALS BEGIN.... Why am I nervous, and this is only the semis??? LOL
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48Jeter and VCB advance as expected, Soumare in third.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48I don't know why people were worrying.... VCB can chop off a good .20ths off that time at least.... She was easy...
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
ANy times available?
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48VCB low 22.3x, Jeter close behind; Soumare has to wait if 22.5x is enough.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Never write off VCB.....
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Did she look smooth? VCB that is?
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Glad to see that just like me you weren't worried ....... looking forward to the pocket rocket in a few
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Worried? Never... I hope that she is 100%, so she and AF can handle "business" again..
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
VCB 22.32 Jeter 22.39
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48Just hang the gold medal around felix's neck now
That was a joke she slept coming off that curve Felix 22.32 Last edited by eDJon20 on Tue Aug 07, 2012 11:35 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48Felix responds with the identical time as VCB's heat. Looked sooo much better (relaxed, composed, non-stressed).
edit: 22,31 (rounded down)
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Felix looked outstanding, not running away, but jogging away from the others.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Yep. So now we have to wait until the final on tommorrow....Oh there is another heat~~ oops... Jogging away???? LOL....
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48
Somewhat, but not nearly as smooth as Felix.
Re: 2012 OG: w200–Richards-Ross (US) 22.48Felix looks like she's in 21.5x form.
