First one was completely past the board, second she barely was on the foul strip.

Savitskaya with 2 fouls after her opening 6.21. This probably rules her out of the medals now.

Schwarzkopf finished with another 6.30. It's going to be about Yosypenko and Nana Djimou's last jumps now.

Savitskaya fouls her last jump, leaving her at 6.21, well below her projected 6.55. That takes her out of bronze consideration, projecting to 6438.

Nana Djimou finishes with 6.07. 6.13 remained her best. That probably cost her a bronze.

Djimou only 6.13 for her best, dropping to a projected 6530. Schwarzkopf looks in good shape at the moment.

Yosypenko doesnt improve, so the battle for bronze is between her and Schwarzkopf, barring disaster...unless Skujyte does something like 6.50 which is doubtful

Fountain with a good jump, but a foul on her third attempt. So Fountain and Dobrynska both have no chance for the medal stand.

So projections with two events to go, only including those with a shot at the bronze. Schwarzkopf, Yosypenko and Skujyte have a substantial lead over the others:

Ennis 6945
Chernova 6796
Schwarzkopf 6628
Yosypenko 6589
Skujyte 6572
Djimou 6530
Zelinka 6455
Savitskaya 6438

Skujyte finished with 6.17, so will probably finsihed 5th in around 6550 at best, which would still be a great PB.

These are more akin to my predictions I posted earlier. Jess still has a chance of getting the British record, but 7000 is out of her reach now. Chernova is solid for silver, she'd need a disaster in the JT to not get it.
Schwarzkopf has better PBs and SBs in the JT and 800 than Yosypenko, but the Ukranian is in great form and can go over 50m. Lilli always seems to go over 50m, but has done below 50 at a majors before, so both of these women will need to be at the top of their game.

Projected leaders with JT projections:

Ennis 6945 46.5 792
Chernova 6796 53 918
Schwarzkopf 6628 52.5 909
Yosypenko 6589 49 841
Skujyte 6572 49 841
Djimou 6530 55 957
Zelinka 6455 43.6 736
Savitskaya 6438 45 763

Each meter is worth about 19 points.

I think the LJ always does. It's a technical event on the second day; an event where your foot just has to be 1cm over and you foul. The margin for error is very small in this event compared to others so it always sorts the women from the girls. On the other hand, Yosypenko's 6.31 lost nearly 20cm on the board, as was Chernova's 6.44 which could have been over 6.60.

It's so sad to see Dobrynska go out the way she did.

Now Jess's lead is unassailable, I wonder how this will affect Chernova's JT?

Understably both Dobrynska and Tyminska DNS their JT Group.

Melnychenko with a good SB of 43.86 but she's too far behind to fight for medals now.

Are you saying it is impossible for Ennis to do a hurdles-type performance in the javelin or 800m?
