I have not heard abt Tyson or Blakes schedule to date. We know Asafa doing indoors. I guess they waiting on Bolt to release his full schedule b4 they can work around that lol.

Bolt is the only mainstream track and field athlete that releases info about his schedule way ahead of time. Tyson never does. Expect very few clashes between training partners(Bolt and Blake). The coach has said so unless the “money” is right. Both athletes ran regularly on the circuit last year and avoided each other all year long(other than Bolt’s FS in Daegu)
And you are right, all other premier sprinters can now review Bolts schedule and decide were not to run unless they want their rear ends kicked in 

Of course Bolt's schedule is waited upon. The media/promoter hype engine needs to make the most beneficial match ups for the European audience to see.

Since Tyson and Blake are Adidas athletes they should clash over the 200m in NYC on June 9. I am looking forward to this. I hope they don't run different disciplines. We need more excitement b4 the Olympics just like in 08 with Bolt and Tyson in New York.

Bolt has not confirmed he will run the 4 x 400m in London. He is a bit concerned about a 4 x 400m final the day before his favored "4 x 100m" relay.

We will see.

It would be foolish of Bolt to run that relay.

He would have much preferred the schedule to be the other way around. Too late for the schedule to be changed even for Bolt.

I have two questions: the first, which to me is an obvious question which people are seemingly too defensive of Bolt to ask, is did he really go to this German doctor just for routine work on his chronic back problems? If so, why the heck would he announce shortly beforehand that he was going to run a meet on the same day? This does not add up. There had to have been a tweak in training, serious enough to warrant a trip to a specialist on another continent. Why the Racers camp is denying this, and why people are so willing to go along with whatever they say (by 'people' I mean Racers-leaning Jamaicans), I do not know.

My second question is is Bolt still slated to run at the next 2 meets (I believe they are this Saturday and next)?

Regarding your first question, Bolt and his management team are not required to give any of us updates as to what he does off the track. If he decides to “skip” a lowkey meet to go for a doctor checkup, I believe it is his business and no need for us to question it. He has been seeing his German specialist doctor for years. Go and research this.

Regarding your next question, what meet is Bolt scheduled for this Saturday? I don’t know of any. There is the Gibson Relays next Saturday and we will just have to wait to see if he participates.

When any entertainer decides to go the media-star route, whether or not they're "required" to give updates they can expect to have it requested/demanded nonstop. It goes with the territory. Caveat emptor and all that.

Who cares. We all know that Bolt is only gonna run superfast @ ja trials and @ the olympics. That's all that matters. Everything else including the diamond league are side notes.

Bolt better hope everybody cares.

The minute people quit caring about his every waking moment (and his sleeping ones too, come to think of it!), his value to sponsors drops commensurately.

Agreed! One of the reasons why Chad Ochocinco-Johnson and Shaq are still marketable even though it seems like they are attention-starved a-holes is that they have used social networking to perfection; making and keeping themselves relevant in their ever-growing fan base. Bolt may be a global star but track is the driver; he should fire his PR girl because she doesn't have a clue. They should have been out in front of this with a tweet saying, "sorry to disappoint, I have a sponsor obligation I must tend to" and that would have been the end. Speculation alone can damage/scare away sponsors and potential sponsors.

I thought I read on trackalerts that he was going to start with a 400, then run the 4x1 and 4x4 at Gibson then run the open 400 at another meet.

The timing of his announcements suggests that there was a sudden injury in training. Why else would he announce he was going to run at a meet, then a few days later pull out to go get treatment? If this was a routine visit, he would have anticipated it in advance and not scheduled himself in the meet. Now, if you simply don't care about this, then fine. But you are one of the the biggest Usain Bolt/Racers TC fans on this site; it isn't that you don't care about this announcement, it is that you are unwilling to look at it critically because you fear that it may lead to an unencouraging conclusion.

What I think happened was this; he aggravated his chronic back issues in training, and rushed off to Germany. His team decided to keep it under wraps because they want to downplay his ongoing issues for marketing reasons. Is this going to be a problem? Maybe, maybe not. 2010 was bad, 2011 was good but not up to Bolt's lofty standards. We will see if his body will reach 2009 heights again. This time, Mr. Blake will be there to require that he does.

c and n take your homeboi blinders off and look at the implications. It is not likely big but it was unlikely to have been a scheduled thing and it was something that apparently was decided to have done before he races. None of your long-winded comments really deals with those rather obvious factors, even if this is a secondary thing early in the season.

Hahaha... you guys really don't belong on this site. Try sprintzone instead. I think you will will fit in better there. Here, the discussion involves more logical reasoning, where as there it is more about your guys' style; i.e. cliches, nationalism, club tribalism, and and ad hominem attacks.

I am not asking you to admit when you are wrong. I know you will never do that. i just ask that you propagate your ideas in their appropriate forum.

Tell dem notorious. The obsession needs to stop but it won't. I remember last yr that Bolt won't be in shape for world champs, he is too rusty and he wont get down to 19.4 shape and so on and so on...... Even if he doesnt run until May it doesn't matter. Glen Mills will get him in shape for trials and the Olympics. Only those count.

So, will the lead-up-to-the Olympics 'overwhelming' champ be the 2012 JW?

You two still do not understand what people are saying and what they are not saying and you cannot respond appropriately (i.e., have an actual discussion) on the topic. We already know that you think that Bolt will win everything so tell us something new. Hearing exactly the same thing again and again is boring.

If you think its boring hearing about Bolt over and over again, just stay out of any topic that involves him. Its that simple.

GH does not think Bolt is boring and that is why he placed him on the cover of this months T & F News magazine.

It is not boring to hear about Bolt, it is boring to hear exactly the same thing over and over again (it has no informational content after the 20th time and little long before that).

Bolt is scheduled to take part in a corporate 5k event tomorrow, the Sigma corporate run my understanding is that he will actually walk the distance but that sound but that should at least stop the noise on here about him being injuried.

And u don't understand wat i am saying either. To speculate is not discussing because speculation is just that speculation and not facts. Period. I like to let time run a little b4 i discuss because i don't like assuming because u know the saying. If i see he doesn't run until May then we can have a legit discussion abt him being injured. Blake, his agent and coach say he is not injured. So i guess all of them is lying then.

Last that I checked, walking is a bit different than running at 20+ MPH for 10-20 seconds.

If he is injuried or in sub optimal health there is no way coach Mills is going to allow him to go 5k whether he is running, walking or creeping the distance.

Come on guys why the speculation everything we have seen so far says he is ok.

What i have learnt on this board is that there are ppl who like to exaggerate things and over think things. They basically saying that Blake, Mills and his agent are lying to the public.

Predictions

Bolt could lose to100m to Blake..so gold or silver.
He will win the gold in the 200m
He will win the gold in the 4x1, if Jama doesn't......drop the stick/get DQed
If he runs a leg.....and they could just plug him in the final.....he will medal.

How's he doing right now, what meets he's in........none of that matters.
