No Ritz at the Big 12

The fact that the Torres twins ran the Big 12 and Ritz did not, is there a problem with him? Maybe he is being held out for the Regionals and the NCAA's now that Jorge is running the 1500. I wonder if Jorge will change his mind after being outkicked by Brit Jim Bowler of Nebraska, who has been a non-achiever on the track scene until that race

You know, I watched the Big 12 live and for some reason it never occurred to me that Ritz wasn't there. Seeing as Colorado had no chance of winning the team title, the "resting up for regionals" theory would be my guess.

Torres had a real interesting strategy in the 5K: he would sprint the back straightaway on each lap. It really seemed to mess with the other runners' heads -- it sure messed with mine.

The interview with Torres on the TF&N home page said Ritz decided to end his season because of lingering pain from his injury.
