And I'm referring to Michael Johnson. Has there ever been an event that has descended into such mediocrity as the men's 400 meters? Last year, there were 35...that's 35!...one-lappers who ran between 44.54 and 45.54. Makes for great parity, but also means each and every one feels entitled to a lane. Will somebody PLEASE break 45-seconds at sea-level (I've given up on sub-44)...

I somewhere agree with you.
As I wrote on Mo Greene's board a few months
ago, we have the pathetic feeling to be back
to the seventies when a sub-45" performance
was considered as a top world-class race...

Getting tough to figure out who deserves a lane, is it?! Just be glad Tom Jennings doesn't come out of the woodwork with a bunch of quarter-milers.
