New HS Girls national SP record

Michelle Carter of Red Oak beat up on the national shot record some more at the Texas state meet today. She had already broken the NR two weeks ago at her regional meet with a 54-4 1/2; today, I watched her throw a 54-7 and then 54-10 3/4.

Second place was almost 10 feet back! She also easily won the discus with a 157-11.

Her dad (you remember, Michael, the boys shot NR holder?) presented her with her medal on the award stand.
