I agree with you because she came from about 20m and only lost because she was very tired

Darn straight. Making good handoffs is part of the game. You could just as easily say "If the other three runners on Jamaica's team had run faster, Lorraine would have beaten Richards." They didn't, she didn't, the U.S. won. Great leg, Sanya. Hook 'em Horns!

You are missing the obvious. Everything in the race happened for a reason. It worked out exactly as it should have. Period end.

I'm not a fan of Caibbean sprining because they feel they are better than us and i'm glad that we beat Jamaica's team in both 4*400 races

Ah, I always love the "what if" statement. We can sit here an analyze all week, but that's the way the race played out.

What if they ran faster so we would not have to ask what if?

Hook 'em Horns! Did I just say that???

It didn't happen this time so no use crying or speculating about it.

It did happen in the Worlds of 2001 however when Jamaica got a better leg from a younger Sandie Richards.

The Result: The USA anchor then (Suzian Reid) was panic stricken when she saw Lorraine in such close proximity. She dropped the baton resulting in GOLD MEDAL for Jamaica.

This is actually a silly post. The answer is obvious.

Carib guy has that right. The key to the result was not our young Richards, but their older one. Yes, Sanya ran a great, gutsy race. But the Jamaicans were put in a bad hole by Sandie's mediocre leg. She was for many years their stalwart. On Sunday, though, she just couldn't do what she would have had to do to give Fenton a chance.

Has anyone mentioned JMC's great leg? Again, I don't want to take anything away from Sanya R, but Jearl's leg was the one that made it possible for Sanya to hold off Fenton and the Russians.

and if John Capel was with Bekele with 50m to go in the 10,000 he would have beaten him.....probably.

What's your point?

The US team was better than our on the day. For us to have won we needed Lorraine to be within 5m of Sanya. Didn't happen due to a great leg by Jearl. Kudos to the US. Times will be faster nest year. Someone is going to break 3:20.
If Demus and Henderson and Richards do what I expect them to then USA will break 3:20. Not sure our girls are up to that task, but it has to be the intention to have everyone below 50.6 on the flat

Sandie Richards: former Texas Longhorn!
Suzianne Reid: former Texas Longhorn!
Sanya Richards: current Texas Longhorn!

If they are better, they have to prove it on the track, not the message board.

My grandfather was from Ireland and grandmother was from Canada. I never heard them refer to themselves as anything other than American.

Go find another axe to grind.

"Jerome Young (full blood) Jamaican"

You've got to realize what an insanely stupid statement that is!!
