Jon, you'll probably get 1000 mad replies when people realize the deadline has expired. Some of us were working up til the last minute because TFN Aug. issue, p.61 said we had until midnight of the last day--it didn't warn us it was Paris time. Arrggghh. So I entered the other on-line contest which has no prize. I think I'll make one more post and list my predictions in a minute. Someone goofed.

I take it you're talking about the competition on my site, www.athleticslinks.com ....?

If so, I specifically stated on the site and in several newsletter emails that the deadline is Paris time.

If you are talking bout the track and field news magazine contest you do in fact have a couple more hours before the deadline, although I would not wait past 11:30 PST as that would raise some suspicion

It looks like riedel doesn't exist. Strange really since 2 years ago fazekas could't throw 60m in South Africa. Experience counts a lot and form charts mean little in the discus due to the wind. Everyone within 2 metres of each other could all throw the same at a competition. Don't be suprised if the man with the silky technique takes it.

(are we indeed all guys? What's up with that?)

I'll give periodic updates but Myerscough is already in big trouble with me for his tanking.

Congrats to hjsteve for picking Perez and Adere and grabbing the early lead.

I meant to pick Adere instead of Kidane in 10000W. Oh well!! I also wanted to pick El G very high on the TFN contest. Somehow I missed him completely, when I looked at my list yesterday!

Along the lines of the more "mainstream" sports, I actually found the Drummond situation kind of interesting to watch today.

Tafnut, are we gonna get some intermediate standings in this contest, or do we have to wait unitl after the champs are over to see who's doing well?

After him it's

Donley 7
me 6
Jon 6
and then all the other losers below that.

Hmmm - I just noticed a very interesting thread called - hjsteve is a DOPER - very provocative. I don't know who this Fat Nut is, but he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Very insightful young man.

Yeah, must be something up with hjsteve to have nine winners and he can't even jump 2 meters. Something fishy there for sure.

Cut me some slack here . . . cheater. I just got home from work!
You were the ONLY one that picked Alekna. Coincidence? I think not. Nice try, throwing us off the scent with the bogus Graf pick, when Mutola was the freaking Grand Prix Champion! Yes, slime-ball, you're still winning (as if you didn't know). Here's the standings (pending your imminent bust, zooming me up the standings):

Hey that kid 'Fat Nut' stole my name! That wasn't me who just wrote that slander about my good buddy hjsteve, who is a wonderful human being. I would never accuse him of cheating. I don't know what's wrong with that 'Fat Nut' kid.

She picked up a niggling injury in the week leading up to the Champs. Good job I didn't have her in my medal picks!

Chuffed I'm coming joint 1st! :-)

doh, I went a brilliant 1 for 3. Fortunately I had the raw guts to pick Sanchez in the 400H (winner by the barest margin!) or I'd a been O-fer. I had Patton in the 200 and if it been the 210 meters it would be you crying now. O cruel fate.
I won't even be home till 11pm EDT, so feel free to add em up yourself just to gloat. I'm losing my will to carry on.

I need to do some serious cheering for Nerius in the javelin and Kipketer in the 800 so we can stop the HJSteve taunts.
