Now 4 women over 2.01, including Acuff (third-attempt clearance)... old best mark for 4th was 2.00

Just talked w/ Amy in the lobby of the meet hotel 10-15 minutes ago and she was pretty jazzed (for one as laid-back as she is). She was impressed to learn that it was the best 4th ever, but won't think much of a 4th in Paris. "I'm just taking it one centimeter at a time" she said.

First PR for her since she jumped 2.00 in Brussels way back in '97. She didn't look to great on her tries at 2.03 (=AR).

How's this? I vaulted 11' in HS, and then last year, 34 years later, I jumped 11'6. Fiberglass does make a difference! (Learning some actual technique does too.)
