What high school has the best school records in boys and girls track and field? Which college has the best in mens and womens school records? For starters, how about Long Beach Poly in California for the high school division? In college, how about LSU?

This reminds me of one of my favorite quiz questions (I'll be lucky if no one on here hasn't heard it before). In what race in the early 80s did a runner become the second fastest in history, but still not claim his college's school record?

Not sure about school records but how about......

At the 68 games in Mexico City SJS had...

Ronnie Ray
John Carlos....bronze/200

Also in 68 Texas Southern's Jimmy Hines would win the 100 meter gold. In 1972 games Texas Southern's Robert Taylor would win the silver in the 100 meters.

Can any school hang with Willie Davenport and Rod Milbure both from Southern U.

Cal's Eddie Hart and Isacc Curtis and Alabama's Calvin Smith and Emmitt King would take first and second in the NCAA 100 meters.

Prior to 1950 USC had.....

Howard Drew 9.6
Charley Paddock 10.4m
Frank Wycoff 9.4
Mel Patton 9.3

......all world record holders!

UCLA has had 9 Olympians in just the 100-400 and relays.

How about these guys that went the JC route

Ato Boldon SJCC
Tim Montgomery Blinn
Brian Lewis Blinn
Jon Drummond Odessa
Mo Greene KCJC
Tyree Washington SBJC
Butch Reynolds Butler JC
Lee Evans SJCC
Bernard Williams Barton County
The Harrisons Hartnell JC
Warren Edmonson Merritt
Micky Matthews Laney
Coby Miller MeridianJC

No school and hang with TCU as far as 4x1/4x2 prowess goes.

I'd guess LB Poly does have best school records for HS. UCLA, Arkansas or USC might have better men's school records than LSU (but maybe not). And probably UCLA women surpass LSU (because of better distance/vertical jump/throw records). Just educated guesses; it would take a coupla days to research this one out.
