Allison Felix vs. Sanya Richards

If these two girls turn out like they are predicted to, who do you think will be more dominant? There common race would be the 200. It's kind of like Michael Johnson(200/400) and Frank Fredericks(100/200). I think we can say Michael got the better of that at 200,but would Sanya? Let me know your opinions

Like I posted earlier, this has the makings of a good rivalry.Allison is probably the better 100 sprinter,Sanya is the stronger 400 sprinter. That leaves us at the 200.We really don't know how fast Sanya is. I watched the big 12 conference meet and she had no competiton. I would love to see the long sprints in the US become dominant again. We are still very strong in the 200, but in the 400 we have hit a dry spell with our women. I would love to see the 200 and 400 get more love when it comes to our women.

sanya richards is the future of track and field.
felix would be good competition now but 4 to 5 yrs. from now sanya will be dominating all competition in 200/400. sanya is new to the long sprint and she is improving at an incredible rate.(53.7,2001 1st yr. running to 50.5 2003 and counting). The real ? is who is sexier? Sanya gets my vote.

Another blatant attempt to get a "who is cutest" thread here...you'll have to do better than that sir. The new Russian PV world record holder looked pretty hot though...

they are both 200/400 meter runners. neither is going to be a specialist at 100 meters, good luck to both of them.

I agree, Felix may a 100/200 runner for now, but eventually I think the long sprints will be her events. And speaking of that; with the US womans 4x4 looking so thin this year, how about Felix joining Richards on the team. She ran 52.2 with no competion in a HS meet. Sadly, not a lot of US women have run much faster this year and she just might pop a fast one.

Good call Bergman! Could very well happen. I don't know why we have become less competitve in the 400. The new crop of girls will hopefully get us over the top of this event. Think about having Sanya,Allison,Dee Dee Trotter who was a 200 specialist at Tennessee, but ran the 400 and won the SEC as a freshman,Hotshot recruit Stephanie Smith of South Carolina a good 200 and great 400 runner.Add Raasin McIntosh(UT 400h),LeShinda Demus(s car.400h)and the UCLA's 400h NCAA champion(I can't think of her name) and you have a great looking future in the 4x400 and the long sprints and hurdles.Sanya and Allison are still the forces of this group.

Looking further ahead, there's Natasha Hastings, who ran 52.09 in the National Juniors this year at the age of 16.
